Women's Winter Classic in Gstaad

Winter magic, an open ice surface and top women's field hockey against an alpine backdrop: The Women's Winter Classic in the heart of the village of Gstaad is one of the highlights of Swiss women's ice hockey and thrills fans, players and organizers alike year after year.

We were commissioned by RED.Sport Network to produce the match between the reigning champions SCB and league leaders EV Zug as a live production. The production was carried out in a 4+2 standard with four manned cameras and two permanently installed behind-the-scenes cameras from our own setup. Due to the lack of classic stadium infrastructure in Gstaad, the entire technical implementation was planned and realized individually.

Despite temperatures of around -10 °C, the winter night offered ideal conditions for an atmospheric live broadcast. Our new "Horu 1" OB van was used, which was developed and realized last year together with Broadcast Solutions and enables the highest production quality even under demanding outdoor conditions.
