Swiss Comedy Award - Technical Broadcast Production for SWISS1

Together with Showhow GmbH, we were commissioned by SWISS1 to handle the technical and broadcast aspects of the Swiss Comedy Award. While Showhow was responsible for the show’s content and flow, we handled the entire technical broadcast production—from camera operations and live video direction to the TV broadcast from our OB van.

Production with 10 Cameras

A total of 10 cameras were used for the production of the Swiss Comedy Award. These included two cameras with large broadcast lenses, two mobile gimbal cameras, a Steadicam, PTZ cameras, and a live drone.

The combination of different camera systems enabled a dynamic visual style and a wide range of perspectives. This allowed us to authentically and professionally capture both the energy of the event and the many humorous moments of the award show.

From the Red Carpet Straight into the Award Show

Our production began right on the red carpet and then transitioned directly into the award show. For the live audience, the show ran continuously without interruptions. At the same time, the TV broadcast was time-delayed, allowing commercials from the OB van to be integrated into the broadcast without interrupting the flow of the show or the live experience in the hall.

The entire technical setup was managed from our OB van—from camera operations and video direction to the processing and transmission of the TV signal.

Technical Versatility for a Dynamic Show

10 cameras, various camera systems, a live drone, and a central OB van: The Swiss Comedy Award was a technically diverse broadcast production featuring plenty of moving images and a wide range of requirements.

It is precisely this combination of technical precision, creative visual design, and seamless operations that makes professional live TV productions so appealing to us.
