Street Hockey World Championship

Street hockey is a team sport and an off-ice variation of ice hockey. Ball hockey is very similar to ice hockey, except that the game is played on foot on a non-ice surface. The players wear different equipment, and an orange ball is used instead of a hockey puck. This year, the street hockey world champion was crowned in Valais. Over the course of 9 days, more than 50 games took place at the Lonza Arena in Visp, produced by brutal güet as the host broadcaster.

Concept and Execution

Most games were produced using a 4-camera setup. The manned lead camera and orbiter camera were supplemented by two fixed camera positions behind the goals. In the production truck, in addition to the director’s booth, a replay system was used that could play back the four camera angles in slow motion. The final matches were additionally filmed with two more shoulder-mounted cameras along the
sidelines. Each game was commentated on by two commentators—one in English and one in the visiting team’s language.
